I have a DIY 10 gal sump with a moded/used Eshopps PSK-75 that I feel is not doing as good enought job, so I am going to buy a new skimmer, now I have only a max of 10.5 x mabie 5.5 to 6 inch's and thats a little sideways and would be tight but do-able!

Looking at the foot print of following:

Octopus NWB-110 10x6 ( 2 )
Bubble Magus NAC6 10.4x6.7 ( 3 )
Gen II Vertex In-80 10x8 ( 1 )
AquaEuro Classic 55 9x6 (yes this would fit but it's my last)

My question is, are these foot prints real world or are they a guide the manufactures put out. from the pictures on the different sites it appers items such as the return/outlet piping can be turned into the body to shorten the foot print and mabie other such things.

TIA for help on this

What size is your tank. Your load ect... By far I would say the vertex in 80 out of those. but some other nice small options for you might be the tunze 9005 or depending on your tank size maybe even a ETSS sumpbuddy 40 if the tank is large with a small sump. The tunze 9002 might also work well too if you have a small display tank. 30 gal or so.

The bubble king mini 160 would fit but at $879 it is pretty salty. :)
The vertex skimmer is the same as the euro reef rs 80 but adds a bubbleplate and uses a resun brand pump. which is the same as the sedra 3500.

Good luck and let me know if I can be of anymore help.

it will be tight. Phil has one and maybe he could measure. Honestly for the same money ans that tight of a fit. I would just go with the tunze 9002. The have made improvements to this little guy and it works really well for the size.
her echeck out out and theprice is right. only other option i would suggest is the MRC ocean force 100 but its big for your setup and is higher priced.
tunze 9002 here
