Skimmers ???

I have a 210gl tank heavly stocked mixed reef with a 100gl basement sump. I currently have a AquaC EV 240 althought it works it quits skimming after 3 days and needs to be cleaned. My problem is for my employment I travel for two weeks at a time, and I cannot get anybody to volenteer to clean it.

I purchased a used ETSS 1400XR 68" tall from another reefer Unfortunatly with my sump being 32" high and the drain for the skimmer having to be above the waterline its just too tall.

I thought I would just just cut it down but I do not think thats advisable.

My other option would be there is a ETSS 800 for sale Would this be better then my AquaC?

Or what skimmer that is not in the Bubble KIng price range would work for my situation?

have you looked into any of the bigger octopus skimmers. that have great quality and reviews. they have internal or external skimmers and for a very reasonable price.. I have a 220g with a 125g sump running. I have a octo xtreme 200 with a bubble blaster 3000 pump (equivalent to the SRO3000, rater for 300g).. and I was told this skimmer would be fine for my system just at a heavy bioload. so I would think a SRO5000 or bigger would be just fine. and come in way under the price of a bubble king...only a suggestion...!

I have a RO DB250 skimmer.

Look it up. Not bad and I love the way it works. I am still looking for any mod or other threads from people.
