Skimmers

Since I am contemplating a new skimmer, and someone asked me recently... How long does it take before a new skimmer starts to produce skimmate?

Is it two to three days? and does that vary according to type/style?

my euroreef took about 1.5 weeks back in the day when I had a tank with anything other than sawdust and air in it

Wash the skimmer, it helps greatly. My G3 started producing waste in a couple of days.

What are you thinking of going to?

Not really sure at this point Jack. The AquaC just doesn't produce much no matter how much I clean it.

There are limits on what it can do, a G3 would skim that tank nicely.

Let me know when you get a replacement, I have a place to put the Remora. ;-)

I sure will Jack. And I will run it through a vinegar bath too, just for you! I Got a lid, o-ring, and cleaning brush as well as some extra clean-out screws for it too.
