skimming only at night, bad idea?

My skimmer is nice, but it creates way to many micro bubbles. I have tried putting a sponge to stop the micro bubbles and it doesn't help much. Space is very limited in the sump to add extra bubble traps or any other thing.

Anyway would only skimming at night be a bad idea? I want to be able to look at the tank and enjoy it during the day without all the annoying micro bubbles.

Skimming at night isn't a bad idea. But you are going to want to get rid of the microbubbles either way. post more specs on your set up and skimmer.

what type of skimmer do you have and how long have you had it installed.

the micro bubbles should reduce and go away as the skimmer breaks in.

I haven't tried a filter sock but I tried a filter sponge directly under the discharge.

The skimmer has been running 24/7 for about 2-3 months so I believe it is broken in. It's a Trigger Systems Euro Reef style skimmer. Does a awesome job other than the microbubbles

also, anyone got any recommendations on a smaller filter sock? The smallest I have found is 7in wide x 16in.
