skipping a quarantine period for anemones

I'm interested to hear the answer to this one. I haven't qt'd any of my nems when I've put them in but I'm not sure that's the best practice. I didn't think they could pass ich or velvet.

Anemones, as long as they do not have substrate sticking to them, are highly unlikely to transfer fish diseases.
But you may want to isolate the anemone for a week or two for its own sake and that of other anemones that might be already in the display as anemones can get sick as well.

What kind of nem? Some (mags, gigs) are prone to bacterial infections, and should be treated with Cipro prior to entering the DT.

16 days in a fishless environment would be ideal on the off chance he had a velvet free swimmer loosely attached. This is if you wanted to be overly cautious.
That being said, pouring some DT water over him (and into a bucket to be discarded) should be sufficient enough to "wash away" any free swimmers.

Today is day 72 of my display tank being fallow, I'm going to start transferring fish back on Friday.
Whatever it was, it killed 8 fish quick.
I was surprised all the remaining fish went through 40 days of copper at 2.0ppm fairly well. Everybody stayed active and was always hungry.
I would like to add a normal rose bubble tip to the rainbows I have now.
But I'm not sure I will be doing a quick rinse.
I may do the 16 days observation after all.

I would think loosely or otherwise attached fish parasites are called tasty snacks by anemones and corals...
