Are Blonde Naso's normally skitish?
Just got one this weekend about 4-5" nice and plump. Picked at the rocks and some odds and ends from the sand when we first put it in with the lights out. But havent seen him eat at normal feeding times. Seems to stay out most of the time but the minute it sees you come within 10ft of the tank off to the rocks it is. But at night seems to stay out swimming (pacing) with its best friend (its reflection). I am hanging strips of green/brown seeweed selects and feeding formula 1 & 2 along with my normal mysids.

The select end up gone but im not sure who or what from.

How long has it taken everyone to get thiers past the shy skitish stage?

thanks

give it about a week or two and it should warm up to you. my blonde naso was skittish in the 70gal then i put him in my 180 and it is out swimming a lot more. still hides in the rocks when my regal makes a mad dash for cover for whatever reason but other than that great fish!

mine eats everything i put in. i feed formula 2 flakes in the morning and at night its frozen mysis shrimp mixed with garlic extract followed by 2 sheets of seaweed on two seperate clips in the tank. my tangs have divided amongst themseleves as to who eats at what clip.

I have a blond Naso in my 180 and he was initially very skittish. Now he comes to the glass to greet me and eats nori out of my hand. They are an awesome fish, although I know that one day I will either have to upgrade to a bigger tank or sell him.
