Okay I want to see what success you guys have or had with mixing shrimp in your systems? Cleaner shrimp, fire shrimp, coral banded shrimp & so forth. Thanks

My uncle mixes his shrimps; cleaner, bandit, fire, pistol with no problems. I just mix cleaners and fires. To me it is all about order of introduction from the peacefullest to roughest. Wiz ;)

Can you find out for me what pecking order he used? I'm a firm believer in pecking orders so I'm real interested in how he went about doing this.

i have a pair of gold coral bandeds and love em, although i havent seen em for a while they're there.
introduction, and size of shrimp.
coral banded usually dont get along with the rest in a tank to small.

He bought them in this order: cleaner, fire, coral bandit, pistol. Of course all are about the same size just the pistol is the largest. He has an oceanic 70 tech.

I've been reading that fire shrimp go after cleaners all the time. Kev does your uncle have one of each?

Yep and that's false on my uncle's and I's occasion, his is always like half a tank away from each other and mine is just a straight up wuss  Wiz ;)

I think I've got around 10 Peppermints, 2 Fire shrimp, and two cleaners in my display. No problems at all, except I never see the peppermints.

I want to add a fire shrimp & coral banded shrimp with my cleaner. One of each. I've had multiple cleaners before. I had 2 that were mating & I thought I would add 2 more & they constantly chased each other around not allowing each other to molt.

I prefer mine with Coconut batter and a nice Parrot Bay sauce!

Tagging along cuz I've been kinda curious about adding some shrimp also.

I've kept cleaners, fire, peppermints, coral banded, harlequin and pistols in various combinations and never had any real problems. I saw a large CBS I used to have harass some fish, but never saw it do any real harm. I'm pretty sure my pistols and CBS's have taken out some snails, though.

I've read that fire shrimps have instantly killed cleaner shrimps once introduced in tank. So I just figured adding the cleaner first this time withOUT a mate  I was actually curious as to who is More aggressive: the fire shrimp or CBS?
