Skunk shrimp

I guess it depends on the kind of fish and tank size, the shrimp do not need fish to be healthy, and even though they are cleaners, many fish will eat them, so you have to be careful of what kind of fish you put them with. As with any fish or shrimp the number of animals in your tank is related to your filtration system and the tank size.

You dont have to have any fish. You can keep these by themselves. Just be sure to feed them regularly.

Unlike some cleaner fish, they will readily eat most aquarium fare including flakes, pellets, brine shrimp, your hand, things in between your teeth, and whatever else they can get their claws on. They are especially good at molesting new tanks mates and creating a sort of weird "I didn't really want you to touch me there" vibe in the tank.

I have a really big one in my 55 with just some tiny little gobies, pipefish, and a velvetfish. The shrimp is annoying. He molests my velvetfish any chance he gets, I guess because that fish likes to sit still. He steals food right out of my coral's polyps, I'm always chasing him away from my sun corals. He is pretty, but I kind of hate him a little bit.

lol, I feel the same way about my skunk shrimp. I hate them and yet I love them at the same time.. because they keep my angel and chromis clean.
