Hi! I just bought a pair of skunks awhile back and was wondering how hard they are to get into the breeding mode and stay on the cycle. Two weeks ago I saw them at the fish store and could have sworn i saw eggs in the female. I also thought i saw an ovipositor. I asked two people working there including the manager and they thought that she was definitly pregnant two days before i purchased them any ideas? The female is about 2.5 inches and the male is roughly 1.75 to two inches. The pair were also in a rose bubble tip when i purchased them and i heard that skunks in general can be very picky so would they be better off with the anemone or not? Also what types or kinds of foods can i feed them? Please tell me any past experiences you had with this kind of fish.

There are 4 different "skunk" type of clowns. You need to be a little more specific.
For the most part 2.5" is too small for the female to do any breeding. Breeding females in the skunk complex tend to be at least 3" long and some up to 4.5".
I had a orange skunk pair (A. sandaracinos) that spawned every 10 days for over 2 years, until the female decided she wanted to try to fly. I like frozen foods myself. Formula 1 was specifically designed by a hatchery as a all-in-one diet for their clowns. I also like to feed mysis and cyclop-eeze a couple times a week. My pairs are in reef tanks so I only feed once a day. If the clowns are in a dedicated breeding tank, then some people feed twice or even three times a day.
The anemone is up to you. It is not needed for the fish to breed.
