Sky Blue Millipora problem

Hi everybody,
I have a sky blue millipora that i have had 4 months, it has receeded on the base and krept up about an inch to the middle of its core. My yellow goby has been purched on it at night for a better part of 2 months, i am wondering if its causing this or if the millipora is diseased. My water conditions are perfect and my halides have had the bulbs burned in before it was placed in the tank. The previous owner had it under similar halides. Any thoughts would be great.

i have other sps in my aquarium that don't have any problems and i haven't seen any sps that are diseased so i can't judge if this one is diseased or is just receeding on the base and growing on the tips and out.
Anybody have any ideas please

could be aefw...they normally like milli better and do this damage...Acro Eating Flat Worms

Good luck check the threads..

Your yellow gobies is probably not the problem. I have a green goby that hangs out in my colonies and they are doing just fine.

did you try looking out for any crabs that might be hurting the millis?? Millis often suffer due to a lack of flow... and check your SG too, when the SG gets too high, millis are the ones that suffer 1st IME... :)

Yea my crabs never bother it, and my flow is probably on the high side, i have three powerheads that flow intermittently, when you say SG are you talking about the the Salt ? I also looked last night several times and didn't see any worms or parasites.

you can't see aefw, even up close out of the water; they would be impossible to see in the tank. you can only see bit marks and eggs. that seems like tell-tale sign of aefw, for your sake i hope not.

OK that could be it, I checked the threads yesterday and can't remember what you dose them with, does anybody remember. Their was several options but nobody had a definately decision.

levamisole, a pig de-wormer, i would break up the colony and look for lighter patches in amongst the branches.

Question? So i remove the the Millipora from the tank place it in a bowl with some aquarium water then dose, wait a few minutes, rinse it with fresh saltwater then place it back in the aquarium

no, i would use a bucket, for 6 hours, with a powerhead for circulation, but i would only do this if you are sure you have aefw. look for bite marks or eggs.
