Web based configuration, hopefully. I think Neptune Systems is announcing something as well. Not sure if I should wait to order my controller or not.

Now I await the MACNA show as DA is going to announce something exciting. More coming to us..:D

No question this thing need some type of computer based setup. Obviously web based via the NET module would be ideal. Other than that, I am loving this thing.

I'm thinking myReef may be announced. I hope so, anyway, as its the only way I'll be able to access my office tank from the road.

I can't find the exact post at the moment, but Scott definitely eluded to either being a big possibility. I'm leaning toward web programming, but I'm hoping for myReef. :)

Wireless remote capabilities would also be nice as well as an Improved PH measuring device. Something beyond current Probes that are too finicky and don't last very long for their price.
Just a couple of things off the top of my head....

Wireless won't be integrated into the unit, but we could help you make your's wireless by helping you setup a bridge if you'd like, Bill. :)

Probe design/improvement would likely be up to someone else I would think. :)

Brandon

Probes are an interesting topic. to make them reliable, steadfast, and accurate they cost a fortune..think true lab grade. Hell, even a lab grade thermometer accurate to +_ .001 NIST certified starts at around 300 bucks alone.

Pinpoint has failure rates that are rising rapidly...so I guess it is to be expected unless you want to shell out big bucks for a lab probe. Even then, they only have a 12-18 month lifespan.

I'll talk to you more next time I see you, May be Interested In that soon. Why would It be up to others to design a new better type of measuring PH. I would think It could be very profitable to the one that come up with a better way to measure it, No?

I think its a bit more complicated than simply come up with a better way make more money. As Andy pointed out, there ARE better ways, but you better be ready to pony up for them. ;)

Brandon

That's the point, If we just accept the status Que new things would never happen. I'm sure these current type probes were considered very expensive when they first came out also. Just thought It would be a big advance to come up with a better way to measure it long term and accurate. And I know I am not the one who understands all the difficulties in doing such a thing, That's why you guy's make the big buck$...

Setting up a wireless bridge is easy. I'm just down the road from you Bill, just let me know and I'd be glad to help.

I'm leaning towards getting the RKE, but waiting for the announcements at MACNA before I finally decide.

Ok Zach. Lots of bugs in the Apex..seems they are going through what DA has finally gotten over...

Plus, more functionality in the RKE and IMO better technology. Just my 2 cents. :D

Bugs can be fixed.

Good things come to those who wait. :)

No rush here. Controllers aren't a necessity.

On a system like mine It's a absolute necessity, I would quit the hobby If I had to do all that manually!
As I have had every controller out there LOL I would go RKE just for ease of use and endless possibilities. Just look at the amount of models that Neptune has had, That should tell you they never get It right the first time! Or even worse they are more concerned about selling units than their quality. JMHO
I think I have one of the more complex systems to operate and the RKE has been more than I thought It would be, And very user friendly, I cannot say that about any of the Neptune models as I never could figure them out.
ZachB Why not come over and check mine out B4 you buy? If I had done that I would have never bought some of the ones I did.
Bill

Some people just don't listen! In the end I'm a fan so It's all good.
Now If we could get DA to switch carriers! Awaiting my SP on Monday....
