It seems to have settled down @ around 33.7 which could be right I forgot to borrow a refractometer the other day so It will have to wait. But looks good to me as I think It Is about correct as I lost a lot of water skimmer went nuts so salinity may be a little low.:fish2::celeb1:
 
Just ordered mine with an RKL Level 1 and some other stuff from Aquacave. :)

Not going to get a probe for w while, though, I don't think. We'll see. I at least need to sell some more corals first... :lol:

Indeed, Bill! :) Now I have to make the tough decision... do I want the SL2 on my home tank or office tank? Hmmm....

Also, for what its worth, guys, I took the plunge and ordered the Molex connectors that Digital Aquatics uses for the switch input cables. I love DA and all, but I can make those cables for about $1.00 each and they want $7.50 each. :)

There's a bit of experimentation that will be involved as far as crimping the pins, but its worth a shot. It only cost me $20 shipped to order enough to build 20 cables. :)

The housings are $0.35 each and the pins are $0.09 each.

Brandon, I would like you to make me one long enough for my skimmer waste container. The float switch will be In the container to shut my skimmer down when full the other end will connect to my switch port. It needs to be around 6-8' long I would guess. JLMK what It will cost and i will gladly pay you when It's done:bounce2::bounce1::fish1:

Sounds good, Bill. Let me see if I can make them first. :) Its not going to be completely straight forward, but hopefully it won't be too bad.

Wellp, got the first two built up tonight. One was good and the other was not, but I know why, so its all good. :)

If anyone wants any, let me know. I can do custom lengths up to 20' for $5 per cable. Its good cable, too. Unlike the ones that come from DA that are small, individual cables, these will be made with small mic cable, so its more like the temp probe cables are except its blue instead of black.

As far as reliability goes, I feel confident that these will stay together. There are two hooks at the end of the pins that go in the plastic housing. As long as I crimp the cables into the pins correctly so the barbs can lock in place inside the housing, they should be sturdy. I'm going to do some pull tests on these first two cables and see how they hold up. I will let you guys know before you buy any cables if they fall apart. :D :lol:

Except I'd go for a legit joint instead of cold. ;) The problem is that its hard to convey how small these pins are... it would be very difficult to solder them and still be able to fit them into the housings, but I may give it a shot. I ordered 20 extra pins because I knew there would be quite a bit of trial and error. :D

I'll keep you guys posted, Bill. And I'm definitely not trying to catch up with Bill Gates or anything. :lol:
