Slide out sump

I was thinking about putting a 38 gallon acrylic sump on a sliding shelf to make maintenance easier. I was thinking of flat mounting two pairs of Accuride 7950 slides. Has anyone tried this - will they support the weight and/or will they rust? Thx in advance for any advice/suggestions you could provide.

They are designed to be mounted vertically. They do make horizontal drawer slides. I use 2 to mount my UPS on my old tank. The rusted fairly quickly even though they never got wet. You would probably need more than 2 to support the bottom of your sump adequately, even if you used plywood on top of the slides.

Flat mounted each pair is rated for 250 lbs which is why I was going to use two pairs but your rusting info is enough to scare me off - thx for the heads up.
