I have a 20 gal display with about 25lbs of LR. I have about 6 or 7 little clear, brownish anenome looking things on the Lr . Im not sure what they are. Can anyone identify them for me? And are the bad? If they are bad how do I get rid of them?

there are mant ways to rid of them.

Kalk paste

Hot sauce

Hot water

All of these need to be administered via syringe directly into the mouth of the aptasia.

Every time I mess with them they shrink up back into the hole. How do you get the syringe into there mouth. And really HOT SAUCE?

So I tried the hot water method. And I think it work pretty good. I guess I just have to see if I really got them. ?

some peppermint shrimp will eat it, some wont.... typically it depends on the region they are harvested from (some ppl claim that its because your lfs mis-identified the shrimp and what you bought was a camel shrimp, but from my experience its a regional difference).. I've also used Joe's Juice with mixed results.. most of them eventually returned to life within weeks... just keep after them as soon as you see them.. and I have never been able to insert the syringe into the mouth.. i always just got it very close and slowly let the joes juice out so it would enter the mouth.... some ppl have claimed better success with making a paste out of kalkweiser.... i don't think i would use hot sauce in my aquarium.. contains too many impurities/unknown ingredients.... and im also not sure how effective hot water would be.. more than likely some remaining tissue will respawn a new colony.
