Small bubbles question

I'm not new to the hobby, but I am new to this topic. I'm curious about bubbles in the display tank. I have a Powerhead that allows you to put varying amounts of air into the output. And of course there are numerous "bubble wands" on the market. But at the same time, I see sump designs with baffles that are designed to eliminate small bubbles in the tank. These two concepts seem to conflict with each other. Can someone please educate me on this? Thanks.

A powerheads' venturi feature really isn't used unless the pump is powering a skimmer. Bubble wands are primarily a freshwater aquarium item. I don't think anyone purposefully injects microbubbles into their reef aquarium and the baffles are designed to trap bubbles caused by overflow turbulence and skimmers. I'm sure you know this already but the bubbles don't directly inject oxygen into the water but their ascent to the surface causes water turbulence and gas exchange.

Unless you are looking to turn your whole tank into a skimmer I would stay away from the bubble wands and injecting air into your PHs.
