Hey what are the requirements for clams?I have this nano cube 12 gal dlx and want to put a clam in really bad.Im currently adding a refugium now to it.What do the clams eat?Do they eat alot or no?How much lighting/flow do they need?Noob on clams don't know a thing about them.Help please.Ill be adding a skimmer soon.I know they take out trace elements but will this affect it much?

4 main things.
lighting - 150 hqi 14k minimum halides
calcium - 390-450
alk - 8-11 dkh
stability of water params, think alongside of keeping sps.

no, they do not need to be fed.
the rest, mbbuna can chime in with his usual links :D

Ok i better stick with zoanthids and softies for now lol.How do i test the alk and calcium? My lights are only pc's so i guess when i uprgade to the viper ill be good.

read, read , ask ????? and take it slow, have been doing SW on and off since 1974 and learn something new everyday Clams are very delicate and need well matured tanks, stable paramaters just for a start

I had my nc 12 running for a few months with some zoas, hairy mushrooms, trumpet coral, firefish, and serpent star. There all lovin it.And i got a little 2 gal hex with 2 curly cue anenome's all doin fine.Ill progress slow through my journey of marine tanks.
