small clams for sandbed?

....over at octopet.com they sell very small but nice looking clams mainly for use as octo food, but they also state they make great for your sandbed. They don't cost much, and they're very small like 1/2 inch. Would these bring added benefits to my system in anyway? Has anyone else ever tried this?

I saw these also....I was wondering if they were the same as the sandbed clams sold by IPSF (http://www.ipsf.com/#anchor257863). Octopet.com calls them baby clams, so they may grow a bit larger.
