Small Feather Dusters

I have a bunch of small feather dusters...they seem to be multiplying...alot...

I guess my question is...is this common?

yeah i realized after my post i didnt answer your ? not sure about how fat they spread it may have something to do with amount of food available. hopefully one of the experts can say for sure.
 
i had a phase of them too ,at about my one year mark , i think they show up more so when you have high nutrients , keeping lower nutrients in my system seemed to get rid of them , i never noticed any harm and they seemed to only grown in low light areas of the tank . And yes it is a sign that your system can support life and good biological filtration . just my experience , i never read up on them . i used to have a lot and now I have none i never really noticed they were gone untill you mentioned it .
 
I'll have to do it tomorrow...my blues just came on and I will not be able to get a good pic. Its basically really small brown tubes with white "feathers" i guess you would call em.

I have a bunch of really, really small ones (less than the size of a dime when fully extended) all over the tank. They come out after feedings.
 
They go in spurts. Mine went micro brittle stars, then asterina stars, then sponges, then feather dusters. Dont worry and enjoy.
