Small haddon's

What?
Ok my small haddon's carpet will not attatch to anything grrrr. All my other nems are fine but this little guy. He's about 6 inches fully open and perfectly healthy, Ive had this one for about a month. Do the smaller ones prefer rock over sand? lol I have to constantly check to make sure he isn't blowing away, I can't keep my powerheads off forever! Any suggestions?

When you say it won't attach do you mean he moves around a lot or stays completely detached from sand and rock? Haddonis do not like strong flow so you might have to reduce the flow.

Completely detached, but stays in the little nook I made for him in an arch in one of my rocks. He's happy there, super sticky, mouth fully closed, fully open most of the time and eats fine. Just will not attach. I kept my mp40s at second and third power settings and it was fine, but with my new gyre I'd like to use the gyre setting lol, forward flow is fine but when it reverses the poor little guy gets tumbled so for now i have it set on constant.

Looks like the flow is what's causing it assuming everything else (params, light, etc.) is fine. I personally like strong flow in general so it was a bit of a pain to keep a Haddoni happy when I had one.
I would try to move it (new nook) to a lower flow area if you can.

Ya probably the best thing is to move him. I have a large lta in the middle of the tank and a large sebae on the opposite end, may have to move one of them around. Will they get along together with the haddon's if they come into contact with each other? I've always tried to keep the different species separated.

Yes 3" sand bed, I had a large haddon's in there but moved him to his own tank and he was fine with that and never moved. This guys just really small lol so I'll just have to find the right spot i guess.

So he finally found his spot, I let him drift yesterday and kept an eye on him. Lol, he is so small, my star is about the same size.

He ended up near the sebae, but far enough away.

And the lta moved a little further back.

Now I have another question, this guy and one other came with the rocks a year ago, pretty sure they are bubbles but wanted confirmation.

Baby haddoni prefer rocks. I have a tiny 1" and he is happily attached to rocks

Beauty you got there!

Ya, i even bought the rock he was on lol, then he decided to move onto the sand. Going to turn all the flow off again and set him back on the rocks and see what happens. Hate to handle him so much but doesn't seem to mind lol, stays happy. Supper sticky, I try to grab him by his foot but he likes to "catch" me, would be a big meal!

I think he's at a pretty good spot in the picture. They prefer to attach to rocks but still touching the sand. I would just leave it alone

My poor lta got his weekly around his base cucumber cleaning today lol, he went from his normal 8" to about 2". He hates it but it's like clockwork once a week, at least the sand is clean under him lol.
