Small Little "Bugs" on the glass....Not Sure?

demariners

Work In Progress
I seem to have these small white things with legs hanging on the glass. They are very small, maybe a 1/4 inch. Any ideas what these are and how to eliminate them?

I currently have the same and I would recommend keeping them as long as possible as they are fish food for many fish. I would bet they are copepods.

the legs make me think pods ... but Adrienne is right, it could be hydroids too :)

look them both up on google images to see which one you are dealing with, hydroids arent good.

Defeinetly not hydroids based on the pictures I am seeing.....

I thought they may be copepods. No one is eating them however. I have a clown and hole tang. They are quite small and bright white with little black "eye" in the middle. Look very similar to flat worms but white.

white flatworms look to have legs..

how do they move? Take a pic.

Google:
white flatworm
copepod (always on glass eating algae)
amphipod (dont usually hang on glass)

If they are white flatworms, that SUCKS. They are really hard to get rid of. salifert doesnt work on them very well and the only real way to control them that I've found is some sort of fish that preys on them. The worst part.. they eat copepods.

if by white flatworm you mean amphiscolops, then they do no harm. but do eat pods.[ok maybe that's the harm they do :P haha but no harm to corals I meant :) ]

pics of them on here for OP to see if that is what he has :

Definitely not those.......this was the best pictures I could get.... They do not have "legs" looks like antennas. They have a small black dot in the center.

If they are Copepods my clown and my kole tang arent eating them. They are all over the place on the glass and walls.

they are pods.

if your clown was to eat 100% of them, you would have none left :)

they are good creatures and part of reef.there are millions of them in a reef, and you do not want to get rid of them.

I would not mind having them if they were not all over. I am glad to hear it is not anything bad though. They are on the glass so I am trying to find something that will eat them off the glass.
