Small / micro float valve

Hello,

Has anyone ever found/used a mechanical float valve that will wit through the opening on a space saver jug?

If so do you have a link or brand name? Currently I use a float switch but I like the redundancy of using both.

Unlikely.. The bulb of a mechanical valve needs to be a certain size to exert enough force to keep the valve closed when needed..

Smallest one I ever found was micro size. I used it in my keurig to auto fill it. Pretty sure it still won't fit in that jug. It barely fits in my keurig.

Why would you want a mechanical float for? Auto filling the container?

As a backup to the float switch. Float switches and solenoids do fail. A float valve would shut it off if either happen. I use this method on my DI container. So far the valve has never failed to stop a flood when the RODI unit did not shut off.

I run mechanical float at the end of all my water lines. One solenoid has failed me but never my mechanical backup

If it is for RO, the only small floats (which may not be small enough for that anyway) I have tried are not strong enough to stop the flow due to the pressure an RO unit will exert :(

Stick another redundant switch and solenoid on so if one fails the other cuts in :)
