Small pump needed to run two reactors

I need a pump for the BRS reactor and a TLF 150 Phosban reactor. I want one small pump that I can tee of the both and will put a ball valve to each one.

BRS say to use a MJ 1200 but the pump rattles and makes so much noise due to back pressure on the one reactor that I have. I tried another 1200 and the same thing. I heard other people have had the same issue.

Btw, it is putting water to the reactor but I can feel water also coming out of the input side of the MJ

Any ideas for a better pump that can run two reactors, be internal, be small, and not generate heat.

What size is your tank and what return pump do you have?

Teeing off your return pump if you have the capacity would be your best bet.

I thought of that originally but I felt this may not be a good idea as when I feed and turn off the pump, I will have water flow back through the reactors. (Actually I don't really know if that is bad or not).

Anyway, the tank is 39 gallons with another 10g in the sump. I am currently using a Tunze Silence Electronic Recirculation Pump 1073.05 1073.050. It has a lot of flow but not sure how it is against back pressure.

Do you think this would work? If not, I guess I was thinking along the lines of an Eheim 1048 or something similar.

Turning off the flow wouldn't be an issue. As far as back draining it wouldn't be an issue as no water would actually go backwards in the reactors. They still see positive pressure.

As for your return pump IMHO I would skip it and get the ehiem. The pump would do fine as far as back pressure (no increase) but you might find that your GPH to the display is not to your liking after removing the water the reactors need.

The Tunze puts out 792 gph and my tank is 39g so cutting back for the reactors could possible work. I have two Eco Tech MP-10EW's for water movement in the tank. OTH, I do not know what will get robbed by the reactors.

Does the small Eheim throw much heat into the water or do you recommend another pump?

Oh I saw that the pump put out a max of 500gph... I must have been looking at the wrong one.

I would say go for it then. You should have zero problems running the two reactors and your tank off that pump.

Pumps put the rated wattage of heat into your system. IE a pump rated at 35w will be the same as a 35w heater run 24/7.

The Tunze has two ratings depending on which "plug" you use (12v versus 24v).

Flow rate at 18 V: 900 to 2,200 l/h (237.7 to 581 USgal./h).
Flow rate at 24 V: 1,100 to 3,000 l/h (290.5 to 792.5 USgal./h).
Hmax. at 18 V: 2.5 m (98.4 in.).
Hmax. at 24 V: 3.9 m (153.5 in.)

Energy consumption at 18 V: max. 26 W.
Energy consumption at 24 V: max. 43 W.

Btw, would an Eheim 1048 handle both reactors at 159 gph? I was checking the watts, this actually uses less than a MJ 1200 (10 versus 12).
