Small schooler group

I'm looking to get a few Longspine cardinals for a schooling group. I hear the chromis eventually kill each other off, anthias are too big for me. Any small fish that school come to mind?

I would look into the Talbot's damsels, very passive for a damsel and I believe they will get along in a small group. I had a small group that was doing well until my yellowtail female damsel killed them all off.

I have 5 blue eyes, they (started with 7) they took a week to eat but now eat everything including flake, cool fish, stick together.

Chromis don't always kill each other off. I've had 4 for a long time and they do just fine together. Although, not technically a schooling fish, they do tend to stay together. Just don't expect them to be zipping around the tank in perfect formation because it simply doesn't happen.

I like the Longspines(blue eyes) better but my LFS has them for $25ea. I'm gonna check and see if they'll sell them for cheaper if I buy multiples.

Chromis will kind of hang out together in big enough numbers, but won't really "school". Some people argue that cardinals are shoaling fish and not schooling ones (or is it the other way around?) but I can't remember.

Just a note fish school for safety from predators.

Just to add to Bonta, to get a "school" to form you need something in the tank to intimidate the fish so that they attempt to school, ie large tang or other threat.
