Small schooling reef fish

I am considering getting a small group of fish, but I am undecided on which species.
I think I am going to stick with some kind of anthia - The species I am looking at are the lyretail and dispar anthias. Most likely it'll be a combination of 1 male and 2 or 3 females (in a 140g tank).

What do you guys think?
Any other suggestions for a colorful schooling type fish?

maybe a handful of cardinals (there are many different kinds). that size tank, while a good size, is a little small for anthias imo. unless thats all of the fish you want. anthias feed a lot through out the day and can be rough on your parameters. what other fish are you looking at?

i really like the male lyretails but the females are just ok. The dispars look really nice. I have lyretails, dispars, barletts, tiger queens and sunbursts. if i were you and only did one, i'd probably go w/dispars or tiger queens but they're more shy and harder to get to eat.

Chromis would school but I've heard that they won't school in some tanks. In a tank as large as yours though I'm sure they would. But is a chromis an anthia...

Chromis are in the family type with damsels. anthias are their own seperate group. Chromis do not school in the home aquaria, even when put in large numbers. They will stay together but eventually starting picking off the weaker ones until only a pair of one is left. Anthias as a reminder do need to eat frequently, 2 times a day being bare minimum with 3-4 much more beneficial. They are plantivores and as such require alot of energy to stay running.
