Small Starfish Identification please.

It is very small. Smaller than my pinky nail. A tan color with what appears to be small brown dots on it? five to six arms. Is this a good starfish? There are two others in the bag of similar size and shape.
I will try to get a better picture.

The tubes coming off the arms are normal. They are the "feet" that they use to suction onto the glass with. I would agree that it is an asterina star - there is a general debate as to whether or not they are reef safe. I would say more people lean towards the "don't worry about it" side...

99% of the asterina stars are beneficial grazers which multiply really well in our tanks. They have the ability to get into areas other grazers cant. Unless you see it damaging a coral there is no need to fear. All the hype regarding them eating corals is misleading and misinformation. It is rare to find one which will eat a coral. Condeming an entire family because of the misbehavior of one species aint right. They dont multiply very fast so their population is easy to control if the need arises. I have I would guess 4 different species in my tanks and they are all well behaved.
