Hello...Thank you for you're time.OK I'm setting up a 90 with these dimensions 36''L 24''W 24''H...my return will more than likely not supply more than 700gph.Which of youre products would you recomend...I Dont Want something thats way to powerful as I will be going with a dsb of sugar sized sand and i will have plenty of softtys.

If I were you, I would consider either 7300/2 or 7200/2. Either one would be sufficient for your tank set-up since your tank is mostly soft corals. In addition to the powerhead, I would also include a single controller to be more natural for your corals.

agreed! i'm picking up a 7200/2 with single controller for a small small SPS tank (30 gallons + 10ish sump). the 7200 which uses a measley 13W will move over 600gph wide open. even though you're doing softies i would still look at turning the tank over in the 15-20x hour range. combined with your return pump the 7200/2 might get you there or else the 7300/2 or 7400/2 should. these pumps all have close to a 1" output which helps keep the flow a little more soft too. a single controller would allow you to pulse the powerhead from anywhere between 30 and 100% power. so this should provide some nice wave action. and with the electronic turbelle pumps (7*00/2) you can always adjust the flow to settle things down if the current is too strong (small screw potentiometer on the driver which regulates power to the powerhead-OR-the single or multicontroller allows flow control also). you can also add the photoelectric eye/cell which will switch nighttime currents to setting 2 (usually lower). GL! now roger can chime in and tell us we're wrong!-hehe

oh i plan on doing a mix of corals i just don't want something overly strong...Thanks guys for telling me you're opions...i did learn some stuff thats 4-sure...ill look into these recommendations......thankyou.But i did post this in the company forums so I'm looking for a Company response.I appreciate it tho.

Hi, I could see a couple ways to do this. I had a very similar tank except 21" deep. I ran 2 2002 top mounted power heads and used a plenum with2mm aragonite sand. It tended to produce thin spots in the sand. We now run the tank at my shop for my Ritteri Anemone and have a 400gph return and a 7400/2 with single controller and we are using a DSB but not of sugar sand we used Knop Reef Base. I think it would also be feasible to use a 6000 Stream. Particularly with the Deco Rock because this would give the flow a slight upward angle due to the mounting.

Where can one buy these 7000 series powerheads now? I don't see them anywhere for sale...

I have a 75G but a stream will not work -- sandbed is deep and it will knock over my rockwork I think.

Any ideas on how to get these 7000 series powerheads would be great.

You should be able to order one from any of our dealers. Marine Depot, Champion and Premium all feature these products on there website. The local dealers who stock our product can order them if they don't have them. Old Town Aquarium in Chicago is a Tunze dealer.
