Small tubes on live rock

I have noticed that there are several small tubes attached to my rock that seem to have a tiny little organism inside of them. The tubes range in length from a couple of millimeters or a little less than a centimeter and have a diameter of less than 2 millimeters.

What are these little things? No searching has lead me to an answer.

are they brownish/yellow? Google pics of hydroids and see if that is it

Could be hydroids or vermetid snails. Hydroids are much more of a pest than vermetids. If you can, post a pic. Hard to ID with only a description.

I will try to get a few pictures up over the weekend, I don't have my camera down here at school but I can pick it up over the weekend. I have looked over the suggestions so far but nothing really matches the little things in my tank.

I will post some pics on the weekend.

i have acouple in my tank luckily they havent gotten out of hand
