Smallest Flame x Rusty Hybrid!!!!!

Today I was at my LFS and they had a Flame x Rusty hybrid about the size of a dime. They had it labled as a shepardis angel, but either way it was very tiny. They wanted 200 for it. My girlfriend almost got it for 50 as one of the workers thought it was a regular Flame angel and my GF jumped on it before I even saw it as she thought it was a Flame as well. They had it bagged up and at the counter, I was still looking around as we were only in the store for about 5 minutes and I was still in the coral section. The manager was looking at it and said Holy Crap, go put this guy back in the tank unless they wanna pay 200. Hmmm would it have been right to run out the door with the fish if I had realized what had happened?? I mean of course paying the 50. lol

yeah, selling out for $150 is pretty cheap. they are really nice looking fish though. get it if you can, they don't come around too often.

Technically, they had no right to change their mind about the price after marking it for $50. It's considered false advertisement and you could sue for that.

No they had it marked correctly for 200, The girl working there thought it was a regular flame as my GF did as well. That is why it was bagged up as a 50 dollar fish, the manager noticed it and said woah wrong fish that is not a flame. This LFS actually has these fish in regularly, They carry a lot of rarer fish and pricer fish. While I was there they did have about a dozen beautiful potters angels, 2 Clarion angels, one True personifers, a copuple of passer angels, And some triggers I have never seen before. They wanted around 900 a piece for those guys.

wouldn't suing cost way more than the $150 that could have been saved.

Not to mention waste a lot of people's and the legal system's time

Not only that, a business has the right to refuse to sell to anyone, on any grounds....so no. They could just say, "Sorry, we're not selling this to you." then go change the price on the tank even if it was marked at $50.

Are you sure it WASN'T a C. shepardi?

Matthew
No it was not listed as a shepardi, But for many years and even now they are considered the same fish. There is nothing that has proven that they are not indeed the same exact fish. I didn't take any pictures of the fish as I had no camera on me and my phone takes horrible pics.

I want to hear more about the size/price of the clarions and especially the true personifer, and how did you know it was a true personifer?

The Clairons were roughly 7-9"s in length they were 3500.00 apiece, They seem to always have one in their shop, The Personifer was marked true was priced at 2400.00 and was in a tank alone. The regualr or false personifers were in the store and priced around 200 per fish. I really don't know the difference in the fish as it is not one I have ever liked or read up on. Just the shops over all history would lead me to believe they were telling the truth on that fish. I did buy a Clarion from them about 12 years or so ago. I was still a kid then and saved up all my money to get it. And sorry no pics of the hybrid, I just don't carry a camera on me. Next time I will take my camera with me, the shop is about an hour away.

Is this a fish store in Beverly Hills?!?

Take a camera next time! Pics or it didn't happen! You can be like the fishorozzi!

No this store is in Northern NJ about 15 minutes outside NYC and just because there is NO pic does not mean it didn't happen. This store always has harder to get fish, the one thing I do not like though is when it comes to Acros theys sell colonies not frags.

I'd love to see some pics as well. Might help with my question too. However, I'm not going to badger you about it.

Next time I decide to drive an hour up to North Jersey in crazy traffic I will make sure to take my camera, I doubt they will have the hybrid by then but I know they will have something.

They had one about a year ago as well priced at 179.00.

This store is definitely legit when it comes to rare and expensive fish. They are always healthy too.
