Smiddy's 260 build

Current setup

Current setup

Here is a FTS of my current set up that most the inhabitants will be transferred in a few months

Awesome build. I'm in the middle of putting together my 240g tank as well. Will follow this one for sure

Thank you for the kind words!
Here is the plumbing hole for the access between the living room and the garage.

Start of a big plumbing project

Sump is still on furniture dolly's but you get the idea

Saw this high altitude reef tonight for the first time, incredible aesthetics, and very well thought out. I can't wait to supply SPS for it!
If the 260 looks anything like the 120, we may have the nicest tank in FLG coming online!

There are 2 cubes and 2 other tanks coming together in FLG at the moment.. !

Jason, hope you can make better use out of that 75 then I could have! Thank you for the kind words.

Boon, Jason said he was going to put together a little BBQ for a meet and greet for all 6 of us in Flag. You interested?

Updates Nothing to much

Finished the acid bath of the rocks:

Almost finished the plumbing (wanted to put 2 more unions in the returns but it would not fit!) And yes I did plumb a line into my toilet's waste line. Who likes carrying buckets for water changes anymore. Turning a valve is much easier. From the tank's overflow to where I am now took almost three full days with a side project of removing a hearth and mantel (3 ft off the wall) from a fireplace and re doing the drywall, painting, and re organizing the room to fit the large tank

Kitchen side view: ( you can see we are almost done with the fire place as well)

SP6 Return pump: Its a lot larger than I thought.

Since the sump will be in the garage.... I decided to cover it from saw dust and work related debris. Still needs to be painted so don't judge the color

Finally finished plumbing

Finally finished plumbing

I finished the plumbing last night. I left one extra line in my manifold for future use. The one to the right of the extra will feed a 29 bicoube fuge/acclimation tank located where all the junk is on top of the stand.

What exactly do you mean by fuge/ acclamation tank plumbed in?

Well I have a biocube i am using on my current system that is in a sense a remote fuge also plumbed in the garage while the main DT and sump are inside. I ma going to take that off my current system and place it on top of the white stand in the garage for the new sump and use as a refugium as well as a little tank to introduce new fish (EX anthias one of my favorite species but need a week or to start actually eat and with no tank mates it should be easier in theory) to make sure they eat and are healthy. I don't currently have the room for a quarantine system otherwise I would build on right next to this. I might have room once my current system is broken down and I get more room in the garage.

PS I also ran a separate circuit dedicated to my fish tank because it was easy and my breaker box was already in the garage.
