thats kinda how i feel.. 8 hours a day of that would drive me insane as a fish.

ive been into clubs with them before.. the fish always look so jittery.

I am not sure how you came about the music, this club dosen't have any kind of beer and is not a music kind of club. This is an adult private club. Yes they do have tunes but not to the volume that you would hear in a dance club. You don't even know that the music is playing when you are in th club, If you know what I I'm talking about.

the one im talking about is also a strip club. its plenty loud in there, and ive worked at one before as well.

I think the smoke would be the least of worries. Probably end up with a beer or two in the tank or a body with the club remixes they play these days. Although probably couldn't tell if vodka made it in! I'd pass with heavy smoke users. Tell your friend to set up a cage with canaries instead!

The quote abou tthe smokers house in ridiculas.....if your a smoker and your house smells like smoke, even the back room i think you should consider cleaning once in a while or adding a air purifier......My pops smokes and my house only smells when he is smoking then after that with a little bit of air freshener and the air purifier going you couldnt smell anything....


How would smoke penatrate the water?...wouldnt it just skim over the top with the smoke being alot lighter then the water plus heat rise's.

If he says the club isnt loud, why are people doubting him...even if you have worked at a strip club theres not one strip club the same as another....so if he says the sound isnt a problem, then its not a problem.


There is plenty of clubs/bars in downtown L.A, N.Y, and all over europe that have fish tanks in......and they do just fine.....

I say go for it man....

As long as the music doesnt effect the fish.

I would aslo definatly use a skimmer, just run the airline to a room with a air purrifier.....i dont think that you would have to worry about drunk people messing with the tank either....bouncers in strip clubs should be able to handle people and if they cant i suggest you get some new ones.

I let my air intake suck air from within a1.5 inch pvc 8 inch with endcap, holes drilled on one end with carbon bag between the hose and holes in the pvc end - any airborn stuff (paint fumes, roach spray, smoke, insense, dust, etc, etc has to run thru the carbon before it gets to the skimming action - it was orignally built to hold down air sucking noise a bit

I'm with STsONpERs on this one. Plenty of case study around NY and LA with tanks in clubs (not sure about the strip joints). Tell your friend to just put in the tank. Maybe a species tank of sea horses, they like to dance around funky. Might encourage the girls!

My pH was always at 7.4 or lower when I smoked inside. Plus everything in my house turned yellow including my tank stand and hood.

I smoke, but it's alwas outside now. ALWAYS, even if it's 10 degrees outside and I'm in my drawers, I still go outside. :bum:

Were you smoking 15 packs a day....and in your break from smoking cigs you light up a big cigars to hold you over...

I have NEVER heard of or seen things other then teeth turning yellow because of smoke....especially not wood!!

I would like to thank you all for your input. All I can say is that I wish I was one of the fish that are going to placed in the tanks. No adult drinks allowed in the club.
They will have a break for two days out of the week, club is only open Tues -Sat. I'll give him my 10c and help as much as I can. I think carbon is a must and plenty of water changes.
Man I wish I was a fish in an Adult Club's fish tank.

Guess you never bought an home that had smokers in it. Made that mistake once... Everything was yellowed and sticky from tar. No wonder you can smell smokers in public
