Snail Die Off

I have been experiencing snail die off in my tank. At first I thought it might be my temps, but since, I have kept my temps at about 77 degrees, with the exception of some swings. All my ranges are in order, 8.3 ph 0 trates 0 trites 0 NH3 etc..., but still I have the die off. I have tried Mexican turbos, Margaritas, Astreas, and Red Collars. All with the same results! I have now been told that this might be due to electrical currents within my tank. Has anyone ever had to deal with this, and if so have you had good results after installing a grounding probe?

I drip acculmate for about a hour. I do this for all my additions (great succes with others).

They usually last a few weeks give are take, with some lasting a month or two.

My hermits and Sally Light Foot only clean up the mess.

Oddly enough my King Kochs and Nassarias (spelling) seem to live pretty good.

I used to have stray elec. in my tank but it never harmed any of my inverts, just my corals.

I wouldn't bet that the crabs are only cleaning up the mess. they do and will kill snails.

turbos are more of a colder water snail and alot of ppl seem to have issues of them not lasting long in their tanks.

so I am not sure what is wrong with the others.

maybe to many snails and not enough food?

Are you dosing anything?? I had the ssame problem and it tturned out I had to much iodine in my system. Stopped dosing Iodine and done a large water change and haven't had a problem since.

Are you familiar with pyramid snails? Any chance you notice tiny white cone-shaped snails hitching to the turbos and others?

I don't know but im interested. the only thing iv had in my tank that died was a mexican turbo snail but the 5 astreas and 10 hermits are still alive along with my other mexican turbo snail. alond with my 2 false percula clowns and diamond goby.

I haven't noticed any small snails nor have I had anything else die off with the exclusion of a couple of hermits at the begging. Everything else (2 sebaes, 2 fire fish, 1 blue hippo, 1 blennie, 3 peppermints, 1 sally light foot, 1 skunk cleaner) is suffering from the unknown threat. Has anyone ever heard about electricity harming tank inhabitants?

Did you get all your snails from the same source? Some LFS's don't properly acclimate and their snails die off in a month or so, long enough for most of the inventory to be transfered to customers tanks.
