Snail ID?

Hello again. I received a delivery from you yesterday, and as usual everything arrived just fine. One part of the delivery was some astraea snails, but in the group there was one snail that I've never seen before. It's body is a little smaller than the astraeas, and its shell is a yellowed plaster color, with spikes poking out from the circular shell. It reminds me of the Statue of Liberty's crown, really. Any idea what this snail is? Sorry no pics yet. It was all I could manage last night to acclimate and get the tank back to normal!

Thanks!

Stephen,

The specimen you have received may be the Astraea phoebia pictured on pg.102 of the Julian Sprung book Invertebrates A Quick Reference Guide, though we are unable to properly identify the specimen without a picture of the snail. If you would like to post, email, or mail a picture of the specimen in question, we will be happy to help you identify the item.

We look forward to seeing a picture of the snail you have received.
