snail... what kind? I.D.? safe????

Just pulled this guy out. Looked like he was eating my gsp. He is about 1.75" long. Body(not shell) has a navy blue hue to it.
Any thoughts as to what type of snail?... and good or bad???

Olive shell.
Thats as far as I can take you with that ID, Im sure someone else will be along soon.

i agree it could be an olive shell. Is the shell really shiney or is it just the flash from the camera reflecting the light. If it an olive i'm fairly sure it will have a mantle it can cover its shell with which is what buffers the shell so much it shines. they burrow into the sand and i also think they ae all preditors so you may want to quarantine it until an expert can give you a possitive I.D. but for that you may have to get a clearer picture and also one of the opening of the shell.
