Snail with a Buddy

I found this astrea snail on the side glass just above the rocks.
He has one of the micro feather dusters on his back.

He is doing double duty. Maybe I can start planting all my snails with a featherduster on their back

My tux urchin is walking around with money plant, a feather duster, and two of my zoanthid frags. Soon as I recorganize my tanks I am removing him from the tank that has my frag plugs and disks.

if you get a small xenia cutting to attach to a bit of sand, you can glue the sand to an astrea snail and have a mobile coral.

Then you'll have xenia all over your tank, possibly in some places you don't want it.

If you have xenia in your tank at all you will have it all over your tank in places you dont want it

Last night I made up the extra water and cleaned out the sump. I had to mod the plumbing a bit to fit in a 30 gallon sump, It sucked some massive water and air. I have to work on it yet and when I get home I will get pics up.

hey al which skimmer is that?

I have the asm g4x skimmer which looks like what you have.. this thing totally rocks... i havent done any of the mods to it yet... but definently pulls some serious skimmate

Its the G4X+ w/ sedra 15000. No mods yet but plan on a gate valve.

Hey Shnabbles what do you think of putting an 90 elbow inside of the skimmer to cause a vortex. It seems like a lot of energy is lost as the water smashes up against the far side of the skimmer. I hear a lot of people talking about a counter current skimmer designs and I was wondering if this would allow the bubbles to stay small and have more in the chamber. With a few mods I think I can set it up as an external skimmer.

I dont know about the external part I know the o-ring around the top lets a slight bit of water out because i get some salt creep around the top... the 90 elbow sounds like it would make sence... what would you do glue it to the tube and push the tube out from the inside?..

Whats the recirc mode do? Just recirculate the water thats already been skimmed???
