Snails and magnets

Is it just my snails or does everyone see their snails on their cleaning magnets all the time? Seems my snails congregate on magnets like my powerhead magnets or cleaning ones. Is there a reason they do this? I often find as many as 10 on one power head or mag-float in the afternoon.

Yep. I bet they are there right after you clean your glass and there's no film algae for them to eat on the glass but there is on the magnet.

I never leave my magnet in the tank

My screen tops are a pain in the but to move on the 180. Therefore the magnets are fun to get in and out. I guess I could take them out for safety reasons.

pull them out and soak them in vinegar once a month. Stuff can grow on the pad and scratch your glass if you don't. Be sure to check that nothing has grown between them before using every time too.
