Snails constantly disappear

Do clownfish feed their host anems snails? I think mine are. All of my snails disappear and around the anems is a snail shell graveyard. I really dont feed the anems. Will the clownfish do this.

I know my haddoni use to grab them if they touched it. I was starting to think it was french with as many snails that it ate.

My Actinia equina eats Stomatella snails if they get within reach of her tentacles. I find the empty shells on the sand below the Actinia later.

I would not put snail-eating beyond the anemone, though I would have thought snails than can lock their shell with an operculum would be on the safe side (Stomatellas cannot draw back into their minute shell).

They can be eaten, even with the operculum closed. There are other possible explanations for disappearing snails, though, which range from prior health issues to predation by something else.

I've kept my haddoni with Mexican Turbo snails for quite a few years with no problem. Then a month or so ago, out of the blue, he got a taste for escargot. In a little over a weeks time, he wiped out all of them. Probably about 15. I have no idea what caused the change. I just left the shells piled up underneath him. Here he is spitting out the shell.
