snails for a 10 gallon nano?

5 Nerite

according to an article I read this is what they suggest for a 10 gallon tank.

Is this overkill?

In my experience and a friend of mine with a 12 gal nano, it seemed that any more than 3 glass cleaning snails in the tank and they die baqck to three for lack of food?
