snails in sump

IMO, as long as they are not the big Turbo snails, then it's not a problem. Turbo snails can create some backflow, if they get stuck in some piping or something.

I think it would depend on the sump layout and how much trouble they could cause in there.

Wouldn't hurt to have something munch on settled detritus so long as they do not have access to pump piping etc.
