Snails on clam

One of my clams has what looks like small round snails on it's side. I thought I remember reading that this is not a good thing. Should I get the snails off, and if so, how? Tweezers??????

Carol, This link shows the pyramidellid snails that are parasitic on clams. Do they look like these? If so, toothbrush them off and be sure to check the underside of the clam. If they aren't pointed like this and are just completely round I'd venture a guess that they are harmless. Do you have the ability to get a pic of them?

I have collonista snails all over my tank and they help keep my clam's shell clean.
