Snails?

Where are all my snails. I have found lots of shells but no snails. They have been slowly disappearing. Just wondered where they go?

I've seen hermit crabs kill snails but they usually take the snail's shell. Could be the snails are just dying and other animals are eating the dead snail leaving the empty shell. Mmmm escargot

If you had a lot of snails in the tank, may be that some starved.

I have found that when snails fall of rock and land upside down, they sometimes can not right themselves, and end up dead. Then hermits come and feast.
