Anyone ever done it? I have been wanting to do it for a while, but I just dont know where to go out... Anyone got any good spots? Anyone even done it before?

Thanks
Aaron.

Aaron - breakwater (aka Coast Guard Pier and San Carlos Beach) water is pretty calm for snorkeling. The only problem is that you won't see much snorkeling. :( Visability varies, but when I was there last, visibaility was 15-20" - except for when students kicked up silt.

If you were diving, there's a lot of life along the jetty and the sea kelp. It's a good beginner area.

As far as being cold, I was wearing a 7mm farmer john wetsuit with a hood, and I stayed pretty warm. You probably could get away with a regular 7mm with a hood if you're only snorkeling. With that said - now I am looking for a drysuit. :D

I dove there one weekend.
There are some little coves that offer fairly good visability, but it is cold, and sharky!
In fact, the cove I dove at a diver was swallowed up to his waist by a whitey one week later! (he survived)
He was using one of those little scooters, and they think the motor attracted the shark.
I wouldn't use one of those scooters!
When I think how I was there one week b4, with a stringer of fish tied to my belt...I don't think I'll do that there again either!
