SNOW in Memphis?!?!?!??

I thought I moved away from the fluffy white stuff nine years ago!!!

I was going to go to the LFS today, but with "Memphis-Drivers" loose out there, ain't NO WAY I'm leaving the house now!!!!

When I saw Robin Williams the other night at the Orpheum, even HE was commenting on "Memphis-Drivers"!!

He said: "There should be a sign over 240 that reads, "Do whatever the h#ll you wanna do!!!!""

(I was absolutely rolling!) :lolspin:

I had to go pick up my daughter from cheer practice, so decided I'd go to Something Fishy which is very near there. I picked up a choc chip starfish for my Harlequins. I'll try to post a vid of them trying to get it later. The roads weren't really all that bad, but you're definitely right about the Memphis drivers.

He is so right

I have one more week of training in Memphis, so I'm trying to get my trigger finger and magic signaling finger in shape. :-) It gets real nasty at the fly-over where I have to get on 240. I have to ride it out in rush hour all the way to perkins exit.

What I don't understand is why 240 has to come to a crawl when a wreck is on the other side of the barrier. I can't stand rubber-neckers. But I guess that is part of what 240 is all about.

When I worked night-time pharmacy delivery up there, I would avoid 240 like the plague. There are certain parts of the loop that are literally quicker to just cut an arc across town to avoid, if you know the right roads to take.

Wait till you guys wake up and see what has been going on all night.

I had to pick up the gf from a friends house in midtown , by about 11:30 the roads were starting to freeze over. Driving is a NIGHTMARE right now.

I measuring 6 inches in some places. And it is still coming down.
Havn't seen snow like this in Memphis for ALONG time.

It's snowing in Montgomery, Al... And it is actually accumulating:). High is 39, so it won't last, though. If the grocery stores were open, I bet all the milk and bread would be gone already:D. It kill sme how one day of snow in an area that almost never gets snow shuts the city down and everyone thinks they are going to starve from being snowed in:D:D:D.

We Currenly have 23 degrees and 7 inches on our deck this morning as the sun is coming up here in Olive Branch.

It Want last, but it is real purdy!!:p

12" in Tipton county? Wow. I need to call the family (pretty much all in Munford, with an outlier in Millington;)). I remember back in 84 or 85 when we got 18" (in Munford), but that was the most I'd ever seen. Nashville got 8" in about an hour back on 03, making the second largest snow fall I've seen. It's 40F here, but the snow is still coming down. Nothing is sticking to the roads, of course, but it is accumulating on grass and metal objects.

We've got over 12" up here in Tipton County. What did it do down in Collerville?

i had to go to work this morning in it it was a mess early but buy noon it was no problem to drive.

We got 14 inches at our home in Beech Bluff (Madison County). We live on 14 acres of woods and it was beautiful. I took lots of pics.
