A few weeks ago I was given about 100 lbs live rock from a reef tank that had been in the dark for about 4 months. Lights burnt up and owner never replaced. (was waiting for everything to die) Tank was offered for free if you take it down. Long story short I took it down added rock to my tank. tons of mushrooms, sponges, and other fauna popped up in a few days. While moving it around in my tank I found a small colony of Zoanthids hiding in a cave. They are pure white, how long till they color up again?

They are small. But white as can be. If they stay white am I a gonna be millionaire? :)

They'll take looooong time to get some color back.
Perhaps 6 months +.
Don't give up!
Remember to post new pictures when they color up, please.

Good thing you have T5s!

Those look like nuclear holocaust polyps. They are annoying because they grow like a weed and take up prime real-estate

That first picture they are bleached but are colored enough to tell that they are nukes. I didn't pay a dime for them. They just showed up one day and started growing.

Oh, now I get it.
Do you have a picture of yours, to show how they would look like, if they are indeed the ones you've got?
I would think it's basically impossible to identify the polyps when they're bleached like that.
I don't think I could do it.

I will get one in the morning for you! Hey I mean if I am wrong, and it turns out to be some super cool zoa then that's awesome haha I always hope something happens to me

The first pic was with actinic lights only. It gives everything a blue look even our yellow toadstool takes a greenish hue when actinics only are on. They are not blue in person at all. (at least not yet)

Actually Grandis they're Albino mountain goat zoas. Super rare I'll sell you some for only $225 per polyp. Lol

Oh no"¦ do you still have them?
LOL!!! I'll pay you double!!
I'm glad it isn't per half polyp!!
I just love albino zoas"¦ LOL!!!

I saw something similar in my tank after acquiring some rock from a tank that was being broken down. Does anyone have an idea what this might be? I've been trying to research but with no luck. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
