Snowflake Clowns' First Spawn

Yay! But...they ate the eggs before I could get a shot. Here they are laying. Pics are a bit noisy because I didn't want to disturb them with the flash.

Beautiful fish. It is common for them to eat the first few spawns. Sometimes it takes them a few tries to get them fertilized, healthy, etc. Keep feeding them lots of good quality foods and they should keep spawning for you.

There is plenty of good information in books and on the internet about raising clownfish. Good luck if you decide to do it.

I agree...that is a really beautiful pair of snowflakes you have there

good luck with them and please...
continue to share your "noisy' pix with all of us cause they are way better than any of mine

sucks i can't see them until i get home from work.

i got a pair clown fish too. hopefully in 8-9 months like yours, mine will start to spawn.

after they spawn, what are your plans for them?

Thanks!

If we can successfully raise the fry, we'll put them up for sale. I have some local folks who are already putting in their dibs. :)

woogie...how old is this pair?

edit: let me rephrase...do you know the actual age of these clown? I've heard that only a mature pair (2+ years old) will start to spawn

No, I don't know the actual age. If I had to guesstimate based on size when I received them, I would say 1.5-2 years?

Not sure. I know they're ORA (per LFS), but not specific sub-type.

Thanks!

Edit: just looked on ORA's site, and it looks like they are indeed.
