Turns out they wouldn't have made it anyways. I live in San Diego, and we lost 75% of our fish Thursday night in the blackout, including my prized pair of Platinum Clowns. The fry would have died in the blackout. Our power was out for about 12 hours, and even manually stirring the water, we lost almost every fish. Luckily the mated Snowflakes survived!!!
