Ive had a snow flake ell in my 55 tank for about 2 years, i saved him from Petco when he was the size of a pencil. Now hes alittle bigger and the 55 gallon is about to leave. My GF loves him, and doesnt want to see him go. I have 120 reef set up, with 2 clowns, 2 disap anthinas, 3 small tangs, a royal gramma and a pinky hawkfish. Would he be ok in there if i just kept feeding him by hand. Or do you think that he might go after some of my fish?

small fish and shrimp would be at risk. It's in their nature to eat these, you improve your chances by hand feeding as he/she is now conditioned to eat that way. It does not mean his nature will not drive him otherwise.

The problem I see is they tend to be nocturnal and the anthias usually hug up in a rock at night, perfect prey IMO.

PM nanogurl or look at her thread. She as one in a reeftank and it seems to do fine. Like stated above nature may take over, but I dont forsee any major issues with the stock you had listed above.

I have a Hawaiian Golden Dwaf Eel in my 180. If I don't keep him fed he WILL find a victim in the tank.
He is house with small fishes and two Fire Shrimp that he does not bother. He is about 12'' long and about the girth og a Magic Marker (Med size).

i had one for over a year was fine.. then all of a sudden wanted to eat fish... ggggrrrrrr lives with the sharks and rays in the lagoon now

i have a 72g with a chainlink eel....he has been happy for about a year and that is with a two pairs of clowns and medium hawk and some other tangs..ohh and a CB shrimp... there has been no aggression or snapping a anything since i have had him...he does go a little crazy in the feeding frenzy... but thats about it.

i would jus keep him well fed and i dont think you will have a problem..
ohh and hes also about 10 inches...hes a big boy

I have a 125g reef that had a snowflake in it for about 6 months. when i got him he was 6 or 7 inches and was a model citizen until he grew to a foot and a half and started biting my 7 inch scopas tang's face every time I would put food in. Idk if it was to keep the tang from eating his food or he was just dumb enough to think he could eat the tang itself but eli is gone now. . .

Worst situation he eats a fish and then you just catch him and find him a new home like I did.

good luck
