Snowflake eels

ive had two snowflakes that would not harm a single living thing in the tank to include shrimp, hermits, snails, fish. my current eel lets the cleaner shrimp clean him and sleeps in the same hole as a firefish.

This is good info ^^ I may end up getting one, that's about 6-8 inches. But I just want to make sure they aren't as vicious I thought. I have a few emerald crabs, I don't wouldn't be as heartbroken if he ate those, they did their job and are now getting huge. but I love my fish too much lol

i fed my eels every day for the first 2 months when i got them and i think this kept them happy i slowly weaned them to every 3-4 days. i alternated food between squid and shrimp. at first he went nuts for the squid but lately he only wants shrimp and doesnt even want to bite the squid.

I think it could be hit or miss. I believe if they are well fed, they won't eat other live stock. Just make sure you have a good tight lid. They are known for being escape artist.

Are there any good lids that don't block out par? Like should I use glass or mesh? Any specific brands?

I have a small puffer that I have to feed frozen pieces of shrimp to every day,
( more like my whole tank eats it with him so feeding flakes etc. Is unnecessary)

And adding another shrimp piece wouldn't be a problem to add to the regimen ^^ how often would I have to feed him to make sure he wasn't hungry ? Once a day? Twice? Thrice?

I have one in my tank . He is a model citizen . He comes up to my hands if I put them in the tank . He likes for me to touch him

Snowflakes are easy to take care of, they are also easy to get to eat! Usually peaceful, but they are eels. So at any given moment if they are hungry, they will eat something. I had one in the past and he decimated all my crabs.

Eels tend to grow quickly but the snowflake and the rest of those species are normally fine and without issues. Having said that years ago I had a snowflake that attacked a trigger fish, crazy site.
