SnowOnyx and Rod's Onyx finally laying eggs.

Anemones for life
So happy i finally get to post this video, it first started about 2 weeks ago while i was away in New york helping with that hurricane so i didnt get to actually see it, only my brother telling me about it over the phone, and when i came back i moved some small things around and added 4 new fish (cardinals) and took out my anthias not realizing i may have just disrupted their laying... so they didnt lay for 2 more weeks, until LAST NIGHT!!!!

so its their 2nd clutch, its still rather small, and its really hard to see it with the camera because of the angle... but here's a video of them and some pictures :)

Congratulations! Definitely exciting and rewarding if you decide to raise them.

yes im definantly gonna raise them, pictures will come when the time is right, its only their 2nd clutch i may try to give it a try or wait till the 3rd

sweeet! is the male from rods last batch?

Not sure, i bought it from Petland who got him from a guy named Tom, who i than called Rod himself since he only lives 25 minutes from me and ive delt with him in the past, great guy.. loved to help new people out, helped me and my uncle out in getting us started in breeding clowns.. but Rod confirmed it for me that the lineage matches up to his clowns.

It is quite beautiful, but I can't seem to Identify it.. Ritteri? :fun5:

HOLY SHIKEYS that's an awesome tank!

so i got my roti's going and what not, and unfortunatly my uncle (wifi) isnt available to answer this question currently haha so i come on here...

its night number 6... (tomarrow would be the 1 week mark) and the egg's already have silver eyes.. does that mean their is a chance htey could hatch tonight?

thats awesome! I have a pair of snow onyx's myself. my female has the same black dot on her aswell hence the name dottie.

how long did you have them? I cant wait for mine to breed im nervous adding any other fish to my small 30gallon as I dont want to disrupt their breeding. They just hosted my nem last night. I can only imagine how exciting it is when they lay

keep updating!

these two have been paired up for roughly 6 months.... the rod's male was a replacement to the snowonyx's mate that had jumped .. :(

but good news, we got babies :P

half hatched last night i did not get those one, and some hatched tonight... i was able to get roughly 12 or so.. we shall see how many survive through the night...

bad news is in the process of catching these babies, i dropped my phone into my rotifer bucket... Yay, gotta go get a new phone tomarrow now.. ha

Alright, so out of the first batch of eggs, i only got 1 survivor still.. he's showing strong signs of possibly making it.. eating alot ... i hope he makes it to metamorphis stage.. :)

in the mean time they laid again..and oh boy did they lay this time... its about triple the amount of egg's she laid last time :)

<a href="http://s1113.photobucket.com/albums/k507/Reef1589/?action=view&current=6-7.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/k507/Reef1589/6-7.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

it doesnt look like much but from different angles and it curves around in the center
they laid alot in the center of that cluster... im very happy and hopefully ill have a better turn out rate with this batch =]

the 4th clutch, i wasnt able to pull any babies out of the 3rd clutch due to work hours..
hopefully with the holidays coming up and me having time off... i should be able to get these ones :)

im also excited they decided to lay on a new rock, much smaller.. and FRONT and center :) easy veiwing... and ill be able to take this rock out on the night of the hatch
