Depends on the cuke, imo. I had a tigertail that got mangled by a powerhead in my tank and nothing happened. Now, if that were a sea apple things would have been muuuuch different.
I lost a sea cucumberi n my 90 and it had no noticeable affect on my tank. Not sure exactly when we lost him I just know he was not present when we upgraded to a 220.
it depends greatly on what kind of cuke it is. most sand sifting cukes are pretty much safe as long as nothing eats the flesh from them. some cukes can wipe the entire tank because of the toxins they release when they die.
Oh wow! I had a sea hare that just died. Does that have toxins as well? Sure did stink like a sewer when i removed it... Maybe this is why i'm having die off like crazy all of a sudden...
