So are zoos ok in the tank?

Will zoos jack with my stonies? I have been adding little ones in the cracks and on the bottom of the tank just for fun. Someone was like "Woah! You have $%!!*!! ZOOS in there!"

Does it matter?

Nope. Mainly leathers I have seen do that. I did end up getting rid of all my zoos except PPE's in my 180. Now they are in my wife's.

I have some crowding around the base of my sps for about six month but it hasnt killed any yet, do they sting? How would you remove?

I don't think they sting as least mine never did. But they do prevent the base from growing. Only way I could remove was to remove the rock and replace it with a bare one. Bust up the rock into smaller pieces and sell some or keep em seperate.

I don't think you will have issues however I am just giving a warning. Some zoos do not die. They keep coming back like Freddy Krueger! If they get out of hand, they are almost impossible to kill. I had mine go over 2 rocks and surround a base of a sps. IMO, the larger base a coral has, the larger it seems to spread out. Not all are like this but many are.

I love zoos but after about 6 months of thinking the same, I had to tear apart half my reef to get rid of the zoos off my structure.

I agree with this. I have some apparently "super rare" and latley expensive palythoas that have been crowding my purple tip nana for a while. I have yanked the polyps off leaving no noticable zoa flesh only to have three more polyps where there was previously only one. I have noticed the base looking rough due to light being blocked, but no stinging.

Yellow polyps though, they are the devil incarnate. They will kill anything they touch, including xenia :)
